ABOUT US

Our mission

Our mission is to provide the highest standard of patient care incorporating a holistic approach toward diagnosis and management of illness.

Our practice is committed to promoting wellness and disease prevention to all patients. We do not discriminate in the provision of excellent care and aim to treat all patients with due respect.

Narangba Valley Medical centre is an Accredited Practice. Narangba Valley Medical Centre is delighted to announce their practice has been awarded accreditation by Quality Practice Accreditation Limited (QPAL).

Appointments

We operate an appointment system. Our phones are open from 7.30 am to take bookings. Most appointments are booked for 10-15 minutes. If you have a complex problem or several complaints and require a longer consultation, please advise the receptionist when you make an appointment. Please make bookings for each person wishing to consult the doctor at the time of booking. This helps us to reduce waiting times for both yourself and others.

Every month several appointments are wasted by patients who fail to attend or cancel a pre-booked appointment. In the last 12 months we had over 1300 patients (average 100 patients per month) fail to attend their appointments. This is clearly a waste of our health professional time. It also affects patient care as patients who need to see the Doctor or Nurse cannot get appointments. There may be a potential risk to the health of the patient as well.

If you cannot keep a confirmed appointment, please cancel it as soon as possible as this appointment can be offered to another patient who is in need of it.

Failure to cancel an appointment 2 hours before the appointment time will be considered a missed appointment and will incur a fee.

Repeat Prescriptions

In the interest of good medical care, your doctor will need to see you for a repeat prescription. In exceptional circumstances, at the discretion of the treating doctor, collection may be possible subject to a small fee. (see attached fees & billings section for more information).

Reminder System

Our practice is interested in promoting good health through preventative medicine. We may issue you with a reminder notice from time to time offering you preventive health services appropriate to your care. Please let our receptionist know if you do not wish to be part of this system.

Zero Tolerance

We have a zero tolerance policy. We do not tolerate abuse of any kind. Patients who do not respect this policy will no longer be seen by our practice, there are NO exceptions.
